Carbon County
Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan

2022-2024 Update

Public Input Needed on the draft Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan

Carbon County is in the process of updating its Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan (PDMP). The purpose of the plan is to help create a safer community for residents, businesses, and visitors. The PDMP allows public safety officials and local government staff, elected officials, and members of the public to understand the threats from natural and human-caused hazards in our community. The plan will also recommend specific actions to proactively decrease these threats before disasters occur and allow the County and local communities to apply for various mitigation grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Carbon County released the draft plan for public review and is accepting comments through May 8, 2024.
